I’m a self-taught artist, a painter and
an art teacher at New Vision art school which I founded in 2016.
I grew up and did my classical studies in Haiti. My creation has a voodoo
and natural origin, on my easel is a whole incredible
universe which takes shape with Baron Samedi, Legba,
Agoué and Mother Nature, the great cosmic conflict
between God and Satan, a diverse set of subjects
drawn from the pantheon of Haitian mystical and
mythical spirits. As an artist, I am miles away from the
Western perspective which I would at this time in my life, like
to consider, like to soak up and learn about in order for my own
art to grow. Sometimes my painting expresses the
news of the times such as Covid19 and the earthquake and lately we
have experienced horrible gang violence so that too can be seen and
felt in my work.. I use acrylic paint, canvas and cardboard as mediums
to enter an artistic world of my own making, which creates for me a light,
the beauty of life.
